On September 6th, 2024, Kemek hosted its annual Safety Day, an event that brought together employees from across the company to focus on workplace safety and well-being. The event began with an opening address from Managing Director Eoin Bartley, who stressed the company’s dedication to creating a culture where every employee feels responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and highlighted the importance of safety as a core value at Kemek. John Maguire led a session on Mental Health Awareness which emphasized the significance of mental health in the workplace, addressing common issues such as stress, anxiety, and burnout. He encouraged openness about mental health struggles, reinforcing the message that seeking help is a sign of strength. The next session, led by James Gorry, focused on Health & Safety Awareness. James shared his own personal story of a life changing tragedy which took place in 2005 and the importance of seeing safety as your own personal responsibility.
